Our Clergy
OUR PASTOR
Rev. Msgr. Joseph P. Gentili, S.T.D.
Reverend Joseph P. Gentili was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in May of 1987. He has served in various parish positions including parochial vicar at Saint Clement Parish, Philadelphia, and Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Plymouth Meeting. He taught and served as School Minister at Archbishop Carroll High School, Radnor, for two years before being sent for Graduate School. Father Gentili earned a Licentiate Degree (1996) and a Doctorate Degree in Sacred Theology (1999) from Saint John Lateran University, Rome.
He was appointed to the faculty of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood PA from 1999 to 2009 and served as the Director of Continuing Formation for Diocesan Priesthood from 2000 to 2005. He was appointed as the Administrative Secretary to the Archbishop Emeritus in 2005 and served until 2009. He served as the Director of Pastoral and Apostolic Formation at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary from 2000 to 2009. He also served as Chairperson of the Pastoral Theology Department at the Seminary. He was appointed as Chairperson of the Archdiocesan Speaker Approval Commission in 2000 and continues to serve to the present in that position.
In May of 2009, Fr. Gentili was appointed by Justin Cardinal Rigali, Archbishop of Philadelphia, as the second pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. In October of 2009 he was named a Chaplain of His Holiness by Pope Benedict XVI.

OLG PAROCHIAL VICAR
Reverend Herbert J. Sperger
Father Herbert Sperger has served the Archdiocese of Philadelphia since his ordination in 1979 He was Director of Spiritual Formation at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary from 2013 to 2023. Previously, he served as pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in South Philadelphia (2006-2011) and as pastor of St. Michael and Immaculate Conception Parishes in Northern Liberties/Fishtown (2000-2006).
Father Sperger served in the Hispanic Apostolate of the Archdiocese (1985-2011) while also teaching for four years at Bishop Shanahan, Cardinal Dougherty and Roman Catholic High Schools. He began serving as an adjunct personal spiritual director at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in 1985. He has also served as a visiting retreat director at the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth, the IHM Sisters’ Villa Maria by-the-Sea, and Daylesford Abbey.
A 1971 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote, PA, he graduated with a Masters in Divinity from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in 1979.
PERMANENT DEACON
Deacon Bob Brady
Deacon Robert F. Brady was ordained a Permanent Deacon for the Archdiocese of Boston in September 1990 and assigned to OLG in January 2014 after relocating back to Bucks County. A native of Long Island, Deacon Bob is a graduate of Stony Brook University and earned a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology at LaSalle University in 2002. Deacon Bob is married to Christine and has four adult children and six grandchildren.
Bob has enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources Management in the Hospitality Industry and recently retired. Bob was assigned to St Joseph’s Parish in Kingston, MA following ordination. He served at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in W. Trenton, NJ for thirteen years, seven years at St. Isidore Parish in Stow, MA, before beginning his assignment at OLG.
His ministry has included preaching, faith formation, RCIA, baptisms and marriage prep. Deacon Bob recently accepted responsibility for leading our Parish Evangelization Committee.
