History of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared
on December 9, 1531,10 years after Spain conquered the Aztec empire in the New World.

The Virgin Mary appeared to a native convert named Juan Diego at Tepeyac Hill near Mexico City.

Juan Diego was walking by the barren hill on his way to the parish church when the Virgin Mary appeared to him. She requested that he inform the bishop that she wanted a church to be built there in her honor.

When you come to our beautiful church for any reason, take a moment to meditate upon the inspiring image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and consider the wondrous miracle visit from our Mother and the love she shares with us daily.
