The order of
Christian Initiation
of Adults

Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
- John 8:12

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process within the Catholic Church for adults who are seeking to become Catholic or to complete their initiation into the Church. It's the contemporary term for what was previously known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). OCIA provides a structured way for individuals to learn about Catholic beliefs and practices, experience the life of the Church, and ultimately receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist).

Becoming a Catholic

Each Summer, our Ministry team holds Inquiry Sessions in a casual environment where people who are interested in our Faith can learn more about the basic message of Christ and the mission of the Church.

If you are looking to take the next step toward becoming a Catholic, please contact us for more information on joining us for our annual program.

Each week we encourage new candidates and catechumens to attend Mass and then meet for class and discussion in a comfortable environment at our Parish Life Center.

OCIA is more than just a series of classes. It's a journey of faith and conversion that includes intellectual formation, spiritual growth, and participation in the life of the parish community.

Initiation

The Sacraments of Initiation into the Church are Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Through this program, adult Catholics and non-Catholics learn and share in the Catholic faith in preparation for the Sacraments of Initiation.

Some candidates require all three Sacraments of Initiation while some have been baptized as a baby.

Candidates are received into the Catholic Church each year at the Easter Vigil Mass.
